All the King's Horses

The Queen's men have stopped the hunt for me, but I wait these days to be sure before I cross my path and head West.
I am too well-known in these parts to pursue a career here for any longer. I should have known that last venture too risky, but my time here was coming to an end anyway. I'm just becoming nostalgic in my old age, I suppose.
I will set off at twilight, traveling in my true form. Procuring clothing may prove difficult at my destination, but I presume that the usual ruse will work.
So now I bury this letter among the remains of my meal. Perhaps it will serve as coinage, dear reader, for the meal I have no intention of using paying for.
